I do try to help out with the overwhelming amount of rescue
in California. Unfortually people do not sometimes realize what they are getting into, and dump them in the pound. I really
don't have the room myself, to be anything other then a temporary home, but I and ID and will transport anywhere in No.
California. Mostly with a phone call from my good friend Teri and Lilly Rock Belgian Rescue. Please take a look at these dogs; they can be perfect for someone that doesn’t want a puppy!
Canto....3 yr. old neutered male...Los Angeles, CA
Canto is a stunningly gorgeous dog!
This beautiful boy was surrendered to a local vet by his owner a few weeks ago. He has no microchip or tattoo, so we've
been unable to trace his breeding. We named him "Encanto" (enchanted in Spanish), because he seems to be one dog
inside another one <G>. He presents himself as shy, and worried about new people, but warms up quickly. He will make
some lucky person or family a wonderful companion, and is quite capable of training for various fun things.
The best home for Canto will be one where he is given lots of love and positive support, and where his brain gets exercised
as well as his body! We would suggest no small children, and no cats or other small dogs. Canto is neutered, microchipped,
and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is available through Lily Rock Belgian Rescue. For more information or an application,
please visit our website www.lilyrockbelgians.com/rescue.htm, or contact Teri directly. You may also call 310-702-2389.
Happy...3-4 yr. old neutered male...Los Angeles, CA
Happy reminds me what great temperament is all about!
This dog is a real joy, a breath of fresh air. When we bailed him out of the Riverside shelter a few weeks ago, he was
underweight and had tufts of hair falling off everywhere. Clearly, he had been neglected. In spite of that, he seems stable
as a rock. Greets everyone he meets with friendship, rides well in the car, doesn't mind new situations. The first night I
brought him home, he picked up every toy in the yard and shook it, carried it around...he has terrific toy and balldrive.
He seems good with other dogs, and would do well with kids. We would suggest no cats or other small dogs.
Right now, Happy is favoring one of his rear legs...we don't know if this is an old injury, or something done recently.
It could prevent him from being a working detection dog, or doing bitework, but not from enjoying life! We will be getting
him to our specialist for an exam this week. Happy is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is available
through Lily Rock Belgian Rescue. For more info, or an application, please see our website at www.lilyrockbelgians.com/rescue.htm,
or contact Teri directly via email or cellphone 310-702-2389.
Tasha is an 8 year old, spayed female Belgian Malinois who came to us when she was 3 years of age because
her original owners were no longer able to keep her. She currently resides in a home with 2 small children, 2 adults,
and 1 male companion Malinois (he is alpha between the two). After putting forth much effort to make the world of small
children mesh with that of a female who would like to be alpha, we have decided it would be best for Tasha to be re-homed
in an environment of mature adults. Tasha is truly a companion dog, be it a human or canine.
Tasha's Strengths:
Very loving, loyal - prefers to be at her masters side at all times or grooming her companion
Eager to please, learn
Extremely high ball drive - acts as if she's still 3 years old
Trained in English and German
Trained to go potty in a specific area
Protective
Tasha's Challenges:
Slight urinary incontinence that is controlled with just 2 pills a week
She's a barker - original owners had her barker removed, however she still makes noise
Tends to be timid and needs lots of reassurance
Does not like to share her ball with other dogs other than her companion
